Enable user to set number of "top sites" per row in about:config (above current maximum of 8 per row)

We can already add more rows to a new tab via about:config, but there is no easy and persistent way to add more "top sites" to each row.  It is apparently hard coded into the software and chosen based on the monitor settings. 

Over time the size of my top site icons has changed in various updates, and now although I have 5 rows, the fifth row is off the bottom of the page and there is a huge amount of wasted empty space to the right and left of my top sites.  My main request is allow users to edit a setting in about:config to set the number of top sites per row (with the row remaining centered on the page).  The current maximum setting is 8 top sites per row, but we need the option to have more.
