It's good features adding checkbox to select multiple emails at once in Mozilla Thunderbird in next major Mozilla Thunderbird updates. It's very useful when select multiple emails at once and then select actions (such as Delete multiple emails at once simultaneously).

It has been an option for many years to hold the Ctrl key and click to select multiple emails, I think I first used it in Windows 3.

However, you want a special tick box. There were such checkboxes added to Thunderbird a number of years ago in V78 I think.  Right-click on the list column heading and chose the "select messages" option from the menu.

Bring back the checkboxes for selecting multiple messages

Thunderbird developers seem intent on depriving users of this incredibly simple and useful feature. Until recently, an Addon Developer overcame this weakness of the Thunderbird Email client, but it seems that the most recent version of Thunderbird made it impossible to do that anymore.

It cannot be done by addon, or by CSS.

Why?
