Dear Mozilla Team,
I'd like to propose an innovative feature for your browsers that could significantly contribute to environmental awareness in the digital space. My suggestion is to implement a special icon or indicator that signifies whether a website is "eco-friendly" or energy-efficient.
The core idea is centered around the growing concern over the environmental impact of digital services. Many users are unaware of the energy consumption and carbon footprint associated with web browsing. This feature would serve as an informative tool, educating users about the ecological impact of the websites they visit.
The eco-friendly icon could be based on various criteria, such as the website's energy efficiency, use of renewable energy, carbon footprint, or adherence to green web practices. Websites meeting these criteria would display the eco-friendly icon next to the URL or in another visible location within the browser. For large giant sites, inspection commissions and certificates can be implemented.
