On iOS, the search bar has two cancel options (the x and ‘Cancel’ buttons). This is placed right where the ‘Search/Go’ button should be. So the user’s muscle memory from other apps is to cancel out their search or URL after typing it.

you can see from the screenshot the only Search/Go/Enter option is down the bottom right of the keyboard.

please consider swapping out the Cancel button for Search/Go.

Hi! How are you?

Thanks so much for taking the time to share this feedback. I really appreciate it.You are right that there are two “Cancel” options on iOS, and they each serve slightly different purposes: the “x” inside the address bar clears the text typed inside the address bar, while the “Cancel” button outside the bar dismisses the keyboard.

We included both options mainly for accessibility reasons. That said, we are actively exploring ways to make the experience feel smoother and more intuitive and your feedback helps us prioritize those improvements.

It’s also worth noting that most browsers on iOS follow a similar pattern, with the “Go” or “Search” button located on the bottom right of the keyboard for easier reach, and the Cancel or "X" next to the address bar.

Thanks
Andy

@andyf A "Cancel" button is not functionally equivalent to a "Go" or "Search" button, so this is not following the usual convention at all. On iOS, the usual convention to dismiss the touch keyboard is to either tap out of the text field or to tap a little "down arrow" triangle that explicitly dismisses it, not to have a "Cancel" button.
