Disable JavaScript and other things for specific websites in the list

I think there should be a 'Disable/Enable JavaScript' option and a list of exceptions in the Settings/Security page. If we enable JavaScript, Firefox should disable JavaScript for websites in the exceptions list. Or something like that. There are some websites where I want to disable some features like JavaScript, but I want them enabled on most websites. So I don't want to enable/disable JavaScript for all websites.

Or it could be the settings menu for each website in the top left (where the security icon appears). After changing the settings on a website, Firefox can save what was changed on the website and remember it when we open that website again.

Make Javascript a Permission

On Brave you can choose Javascript to be of by default, but it can be enabled per site, because JS is a Permission (in Chromium).

On Firefox we can change the "javascript.enabled" setting in about:config, but this setting is for all domains

If JS would be a permission, the user could decide per-site to enable or to disable.

You could also have the option to switch between "always allow", "always ask" and "always deny", so user who don't need this feature can use "always allow", users who don't want JS at all can choose "always deny", and users who would need to use NoScript could use "alsways ask".

I know that NoScript already does this, but if other browsers can do this native, Firefox should be able to do it native too.

for FF i currently use uBlock Origin, since you can set global and local rules for images, 3rd party scripts, inline scripts and so on, don't think it would replace uBO's script blocker for me.. well if they add/implement uBlock Origin support than this feature could be enhanced with uBO 🙂 aka advanced mode.

sadly you can't disable uBO adblocking and still use JS blocking, so if FF implements it, it should be seperate from the adblocking so if you need to disable the adblocker.. it's still gonna work.

Yea, you can either comment in the thread with a link to the other idea (like you did here) OR click the drop down arrow in the idea > select 'Report Inappropriate Content' > and add a note in the text field that the idea is a potential duplicate of another post and again share the link to the other idea.

Indeed. Being able to turn javascript on or off throughout websites is super useful and I'd love to be able to use this feature as soon as it is released! +1 for this!
