Groups appear to be great however if you're working in several and opening and closing tabs at a decent rate many would be outside the group as you `ctrl+t` to open a new tab it is not inside the group.  Being able to open a new tab in the current group would seem to be core to moving fast while keeping things grouped.

I think that if you're on a tab that's within a group, hitting "Ctrl+t" should create a new tab within that same group.

I agree with @flaqueman that the default behaviour of ctrl-t should be to create the new tab within the current group (if the current tab is in a group). But a Settings flag that controls this behaviour could also be added.

I would love to have @flaqueman idea as the default behavior as well. It disrupts my work flow if I'm opening a tab and then manually adding it back to the group that I'm currently working in.

You can already map ctrl+t to the current group by setting browser.tabs.insertAfterCurrent to true in about:config. This changes the behavior for all ways of creating new tabs, it would be nice to have two keybinds one for staying in the group and one fore leaving the group
