Configurable date format for thunderbird

It would be nice if you could set a different date format that is not tied to the application/system locale. This could apply for the mailbox views or for replies/forward texts

intl.date_time.pattern_override.date_short = YYYY-MM-dd
intl.date_time.pattern_override.time_short = HH:mm

Being able to set the date format in Thunderbird is my no-1 priority improvement.  It needs to be a simple setting in the settings menu without having to dig around in the OS.
