Closing a new tab makes us land on the next tab instead of the tab that we opened the new one from [URGENT]

When we close a tab, we are then defaulted to land on the tab right to it (in horizontal tabs mode) and tab underneath it (in vertical tabs mode) instead of the tab that we were on before. This behavior is in contrast with other browsers and is breaking the user experience. Please look into this.

Sometimes when we open a new tab and then closes it we are then defaulted to land on the sleeping tab right or underneath it instead of the active tab that we opened the new one from. This is really annoying.

I have to then unload the sleeping tab and then click again to land on the tab that I was on before.
