This feature was great, and one of the reasons why I stayed with Firefox when I tried it. From stopping accidental downloads to avoiding malware, being able to choose to keep a download instead of automatically putting it on my device was really helpful, so I suggest adding a toggle(alongside the options for individual files) to choose between asking for all files or auto-downloading. I'd greatly appreciate this change.

@Venetiawrote:

We have good news! We have addressed this issue and you'll see it in our next release (Fx101) which comes out next week (May 31st).

Thank you very much FF team. This issue was so annoying.

When i open a document in FF (PDF, JPG, and so on) they are stored in my download directory and have to be removed manually. That's very annoying. Why not store in a automatically deleted directory when I chose "Open with .."? There is no need to fill my download directory with trash

Stop auto-saving file.

When browsing through the web I occasionally need to open and view PDF file from various sites which I DON'T want them in my Download folder.

To make things worse, for the files that I wanted to view first and then save later, I now need to delete it from the Download folder after saving.

I thought I was doing something wrong and encounter a bug until I find that it was intentionally changed in release note 98.0. It is VERY annoying and unnecessary.

Hi @Yu_C

This was fixed and included in our Fx101 release. Let us know if that's not working on your end.

Admin Jon says this was fixed, but it is not. I have updated to 101.0.1 (64-bit) and everything still autosaves despite me trying to just open to view. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I agree the new version has not fixed the problem. It still auto saves to what ever folder you choose. It's becoming very annoying!

Please change the way of PDF files. I want it to open and read the PDF and not save every PDF file.
