I would like to see Thunderbird have aliasing built into the compose window. Maybe via a Firefox Relay integration. Or better yet it would support any aliasing service.
Aliasing would be built into and available in the compose window so user’s could easily create a new alias with a create new alias button like Startmail and Apple’s Hide-My-Email have.
Aliasing is almost essential these days and should be easy and frictionless and be built in to mail applications and webmail. Currently it is commonly in the browser in an extension, or in a separate app or website. Like DuckDuckGo’s awesome Email Protection and the equally awesome Qwacky extension, Addy.io’s app and website and Simplelogin’s website.
That process/UX is very clunky having to go to an external service/site/app to generate an alias.
None of them integrate into the mail application or webmail as far as I know. But Startmail does have a create alias button right in the compose window of their webmail which is great!
I would love for the Thunderbird team to provide an all in one email solution that includes easy built in aliasing.
It would be awesome to be able to easily create new aliases right in Thunderbird, without needing to go to and use an external third party aliasing service/site/app.
