I have been using the option to reopen a recently closed tab by right-clicking the + (New Tab) button for well over 15 years. It has become a very natural part of how I use Firefox.

I mainly use Firefox with the mouse and only use a few keyboard shortcuts. For mouse users, having “Undo Close Tab” directly on the New Tab button was a very convenient and efficient workflow.

I also think the old behavior made a lot of sense:

  • Left-click on + → open a new tab

  • Right-click on + → reopen a closed tab

Both actions add a tab to the tab bar. To me, this felt a bit like a Shift function on a keyboard or calculator: the same button had a second, closely related function.

I understand that “Undo Close Tab” is still available elsewhere in Firefox, but for someone like me who mostly uses the mouse, those alternatives are less convenient than the old right-click option.

Since this was part of my normal Firefox workflow for so many years, I would really appreciate it if you could bring “Undo Close Tab” back to the right-click menu of the + button, or offer an option to enable the previous behavior.
