Current Situation:
The Firefox New Tab page currently offers a few useful widgets (like shortcuts or recent activity), but it lacks a built-in calculator for quick computations.

The Problem:
Many users frequently need to perform quick calculations (like basic math, figuring out percentages during online shopping, or splitting bills) while working or browsing. Currently, they have to rely on their operating system's native calculator, or use the address bar's built-in calculation feature (which, however, is cumbersome for more complex operations). Alternatively, they must open a new tab to search for a calculator website, or reach for their phone, which interrupts their workflow and browsing focus.

Proposed Solution:
Introduce a new native "Calculator" widget for the New Tab page. This widget should have the following features:

  • Provide a clean, standard number pad displaying basic arithmetic operators (+, -, *, /).
  • Include a prominent display screen that shows the current input and the final result clearly.
  • Support physical keyboard input (numpad integration) so users can type calculations instantly upon clicking the widget.
