Progressive Web apps are an important feature of a browser that Firefox is the only one missing.
For some, it can be the reason to switch to another browser.
In other cases like for the Steamdeck, it's what imposed the choice to only include Chrome in the SteamOS interface.
Other problem even for avid Firefox users, since I wanted Social apps on my pc I had to get them on the Microsoft Store which is an Edge PWA that opens every link in an Edge window, making me use this... other browser.

@c0d3h4x0rToday I uninstalled the PWA extension and replaced it with Edge PWAs, I totally agree with you, while it indeed works most of the time it is quite garbage compared to native. Today it was not detecting Firefox no matter what I did, I'm sick and tired of that.

Mozilla!!! Where are you, we need the future back!!!

Switching to Firefox aligns with my belief in their commitment to privacy and shaping the future of the internet.

However, I'm concerned about the lack of native support for Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) in Firefox, especially considering that PWAs are fundamental to the web experience.

Firefox windows should support PWA

I hope to continue to support PWA, this feature is very useful

Any updates?

The idea has been in the "In review" status for two years now.

Making moves

Computing/apps are increasingly moving to the web, I think Mozilla made a huge mistake ignoring this fact. Although I only use a couple of web apps, I do it daily though. For that I have to use Brave, this is how market share is stolen from Firefox. By not giving us the functionality we expect.

Any news about it?

we need PWA,The Lobe chat I use is an open-source AI project. If PWA (Progressive Web App) is used, it will be twice as effective, and it is a function that is very worth joining. In the future prospect of AI development, desktop web applications are absolutely a good platform.

We need PWA for Ai Chat!!!

I'm absolutely baffled by this issue, especially because of how Mozilla itself talks about it:
