Progressive Web apps are an important feature of a browser that Firefox is the only one missing.
For some, it can be the reason to switch to another browser.
In other cases like for the Steamdeck, it's what imposed the choice to only include Chrome in the SteamOS interface.
Other problem even for avid Firefox users, since I wanted Social apps on my pc I had to get them on the Microsoft Store which is an Edge PWA that opens every link in an Edge window, making me use this... other browser.

Yes. You should bring it back, if it hasn't be made clear yet. Why did you ever get rid of it? I would like to use firefox because it is much faster than chrome.

Yes I totally agreed. PWA is future.

If you have Android, try this on Nightly (the bleeding edge Firefox version).

  •  Add a site to home screen (to put a shortcut to a website on your home screen)
  • Launch the site from your home screen (should have the favicon with a small firefox icon)

The site for me launches in "app" mode. There's no browser to speak of. It also shows up in the notification area of Android with a "PWA" icon.

Looks like some progress is being made!

To organize workflow this is a must. Chrome has it, why not firefox?

I created an account here just to vote for this.

I installed Edge just to have Teams in a PWA because their native app runs so poorly. It would be great to be able to do the same in FF.

PWA is as simple as

1. creating a shortcut on the desktop/start with an icon

2. Removing bookmark & address bars

3. Moving UI buttons to the window panel

I dunno how hard this is to achieve for firefox...¯\_(ツ)_/¯
