Firefox 88 had icons and labels on the main menu and the context menu.  After Firefox 88, it's just labels.

Menu icons give instant visual cues, help speed up the act of finding the needed menu item, plus they help non-tech savvy users.

Idea: Please bring back the menu icons. Or, at least, give us an option to see them.

Removing the icons has become a persistent speedbump in productivity usage despite months of trying to get accustomed to it. It would be great to have icons in the menus again. Thanks

Yeah, same as Firefox for Android. At least should be included as an option.

I NEED them back. Its unusable to read lines all time.

I recently switched to Zen (Firefox-based browser) and it had icons, for a while. Now an update removed them from there as well to follow Mozilla. I'd forgotten how off the context menu looks without them. Putting aside utility, their removal feels like a weird step towards an unpleasant side of visual design.

Please bring these icons back to main menu and context menus! Firefox will look better

Come on Mozilla, pixels are free, bring back icons to context menus and Firefox for Android settings, it's so sad to look at in it's current state.

Merely offering a counter opinion:

For me, icons in menus reduce their readability. I dislike them. I didn't like them when they appeared in MS Office XP (or around then). Waterfox sometimes still shows them and I really do not like it.

As an option, OK, but I do not want them on by default.

I do want to see keyboard shortcuts in menus but that's all. All keyboard shortcuts so I can learn how to use the app more efficiently.

@lproven but that's all we're asking for, an option. Or maybe just the ability to set it via a theme or something.

Some people like them, some crazy people don't. Even if there is some scientific evidence that points towards the ability to more quickly find items if they have icons, I wouldn't want to force them on you if you don't want them.

Please bring back the icons.

Firefox on android has them, even with less menu items and a lot less screen real estate.

Chrome, Brave, Edge all have icons to help people navigate through a long list of options.

Without icons, it just looks like a soulless list I have to grind through every time I use the menu.

Like someone here already said, we are visual creatures and process information significantly faster when its tied to images.

Good. Soulless is what I want. I do not want my menus to have soul, or any other clutter. I want text. Text is fast and efficient and clean and simple.

You speak only for yourself. It is OK to prefer something but it is essential to realise that your choices and preferences are yours alone and not to impose them on others.

No icons thanks.

Icons are for toolbars, not for menus.

If there must be icons please make it option so I can globally turn them off everywhere.

"it is essential to realise that your choices and preferences are yours alone and not to impose them on others."

Isn't that whats being done here ?? We are being forced to deal with an objectively bad design decision. Icons dont get in the way of you reading your text. They are chilling at the side for those who want to find an option very quickly.

FF android has them and they look good and useful. Furthermore, all popular browsers have them, and I dont see anyone complaining about it. Sometimes copying others is a good idea, although Firefox also had them for a long time, so it wouldn't be copying, just restoring a useful feature.

Option to turn them off would be nice too, so that everyone can choose.

Obviously not, looking at the amount of people wanting this back.

> It is OK to prefer something but it is essential to realise that your choices and preferences are yours alone and not to impose them on others.

Agreed, but currently, the choice to remove them was imposed on the users. Your preference not to have icons is also just that: a preference.

> No icons thanks.

You're welcome, it seems. Unlike the many who do prefer icons.

> Icons are for toolbars, not for menus.

That's just like, your opinion, man.

> If there must be icons please make it option so I can globally turn them off everywhere.

Literally no-one is disagreeing with this. All we ask for is a option to turn it back on. I don't even mind if it's hidden in about:config. Everyone can be happy if we just have the option to set the menu to our own preferences.
