When pasting links into other programs, Firefox currently just serves up the raw URL. It would be nice if links could be copied and pasted more like Edge does, inserting a more readable hyperlink to the page in question.

For instance, the link to https://connect.mozilla.org is rendered as Home - Mozilla Connect when copied and pasted from Edge into other applications.

When you mark (aka. highlight) the link text then use `CTRL+C`  you can then use CTRL+V to insert the link in the format as you want.  At least if you paste into applications which support it.

Hope this info helps.

To clarify, I mean in particular when you copy and paste URLs from the address bar (your point does work for links in webpages though)

Oh, ... then you might like this:  https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/copy-tabs/

Note: To enable the plaintext fallback when copying as links set the "dom.events.asyncClipboard.clipboardItem" in `about:config` to `true`

Hope it helps.
