also add the feature of saving PDF automatically after modification (based on its location in local) instead of asking user for path after any modifications
allow auto "save changes" when hitting ctrl s for pdfs rather than specifying file path every time
allow auto "save changes" when hitting ctrl s for pdfs rather than specifying file path every time - the folder that pops up automatically is often not the existing file path meaning I now have multiple copies of different versions of the same documents with minor edits. Surely this is a simple fix
I can't believe the team hasn't addressed this for so long... this is literally one of the reasons I can't use this browser nor I can recommend to less tech savvy users for productivity tasks. Such a shame because this browser has potential and is now regarded as the could be browser.
Allow single-shortcut saving within the PDF markup environment
Love the PDF markup environment. It offers a bloat-free and feature-rich way to add highlights and comments to my files for class, and it runs quickly without necessitating another window being open. However, I feel the "save" button's name is a bit of a misnomer, as it always acts as a "save as" button. I think that when opening a file from a user's own drive, they should be able to modify the PDF and hit "Save" or CTRL+S to save their work (highlights, comments, text, drawings, etc.).
It would be great if this asterisk:
could disappear and appear accordingly (again, in a scenario where the user is operating the PDF from a file:// link) when the document is modified and saved. Currently, the * indicates whether the document is being edited from the state in which it was opened, and does not go away until the file is closed and reopened. My proposal is that Firefox should be able to update the copy on the user's drive to match the version they are working with on-screen without prompting the file explorer popup, and ideally get rid of the * when all changes are saved.
Currently, I have no way to tell if my edits have been saved, except by attempting to close the document. It interrupts my flow to have to open a file explorer popup and confirm that I want to overwrite the copy on my disk whenever I want to save my last few comments/highlights, and this fix would prevent that interruption from breaking my annotation flow. Also maybe let us drag the tools around so we don't have to click the >> menu to access document properties 🙂
