Hi Mozilla team,

I'd like to request a built-in feature in Firefox that automatically handles cookie consent banners — either by rejecting all non-essential cookies or by letting users set a global preference (accept all / reject all / custom).

Cookie banners have become a major source of friction while browsing. While extensions like I Don't Care About Cookies exist, having this baked into Firefox would:

- Reduce cognitive load and interruptions for everyday users
- Strengthen Firefox's privacy-first reputation
- Make the browser more competitive with privacy-focused alternatives

Safari and Brave have experimented with similar approaches. I believe Firefox is well-positioned to do this right — respecting user intent while staying compliant with regulations like GDPR.

A possible implementation could sit under Privacy & Security settings, with options like:
- "Always reject non-essential cookies"
- "Always accept all cookies"
- "Ask me" (current behavior)

Thank you for considering this. Firefox remains my browser of choice precisely because Mozilla takes user experience and privacy seriously.

Making moves

Makes me wonder if that should be implemented as extension instead? I understand the need but also wish to keep the firefox itself lightweight.
