Just as simple as the title says — an option to only show the bookmarks bar when the toolbar is hovered. Maybe show the default bookmark bar show/hide animation to make it more logical and eye-pleasing.
To be honest, bookmarks contain some of our personal privacy information, but it can't be hidden, which is very uncomfortable. I would like to ask, can such a function code be developed? This should be a very simple problem for Engineers....😋
It would be great to have an optional button to show or hide the bookmarks bar .
There are optional buttons to open the sidebar and the bookmarks menu, which can be added in the customize section, but both menus are cumbersome to use .
The other setting to show bookmarks only on new tabs, well, that is a very silly option, to be frank ...
Alternatively, being able to choose a keyboard shortcut other than cmd+shift+B ( Mac ), or to be able to switch the shortcut with the current one for the sidebar - cmd+B - would be very helpful as well .
basterebbe anche che la barra laterale sinistra dei preferiti scomparisse da solo dopo tot secondi per poi essere richiamata avviciando il puntatore del mouse a lato pagina... cosi si avrebbe la visualazzazione completa delle pagine aperte.
it would also be enough for the left sidebar of the favorites to disappear by itself after a few seconds and then be recalled by moving the mouse pointer to the side of the page ... so you would have the complete visualization of the open pages
What's wrong with Ctrl+Shift+B though? That's a good compromise if you need to hide the bar for a long amount of time, I use it when I have videoconferences for example.
Edge has a similar function when viewing a PDF file. You can toggle auto-hide for the toolbar by selecting the gear icon > Pin toolbar. I The height of laptop screens is limited, especially for those who use 13' laptops, so every wasted pixel matters (and already websites waste a lot of them). Come on Firefox team, do it before anyone else. Like the good old times...
Add a setting to “Automatically hide the bookmarks toolbar” similar to Windows taskbar setting “Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode”
Taking a full-screen capture is preferred not to include the Bookmarks Toolbar.
Although the Bookmarks toolbar is required thereafter to open another program. Deselecting the bookmarks toolbar using Ctrl‑Shift-B between screen captures is tedious.
An Idea: With the bookmarks toolbar deselected, moving the mouse closer to the url-address ‘bar’ the bookmarks toolbar is displayed and keeps on displaying while the mouse is over it
>> a link can then be selected and the bookmarks toolbar will not be visible thereafter
