In the current scheme (years now)the thunderbird application tries to mimic the ms outlook features. My opinion is not to do that. A user Requires a mail client to be a mail client. And what i mean is that The sunbird project should have been left over the thunderbird application. A Mail client should only be a mail client and an address book. For me the Sunbird project should revive with a new and modern look, The thunderbird should be removing the tasks and calendar sections and the address/contacts should be made as an addon that the sunbird could use to communicate with the thunderbird for mailing and the contacts list. That way, i, who do not use tasks, calendar etc, have a light mail client easy to use. Someone that wants tasks only can use the sunbird ONLY, and someone hardwired could use both. Another alternative could be to have tasks and calendara as addons in thuderbird that anyone that wants to use them can enable them.
