If only we could:
1) Click on the search field icon and change the search engine, like we already can at the toolbar and address bar...
2) Have folders for our pinned websites...
Then, imho, the Firefox home page would be perfect.

I know #2 is in our backlog, and #1 I will check on - I'm not sure if that's coming up or not, but I agree!

Cool. Thank you for changes but please investigate youtube memory leak issue which has not been solved for years. Please contact with youtube devs and alert them at least about that. Problem is visible more often on live streams with chats being on. Just google "YouTube bug reportedly maxing out CPUs."

YouTube likely deliberately sabotage Firefox to try to make people stop using it, as Firefox still supports the full version of uBlock Origin (uBO), which successfully blocks their ads.
Try an extension like "Chrome Mask" to make Firefox lie and report itself as being Google Chrome when you visit YouTube and it'll like solve the issue:

Try disabling "browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.nova.enabled" in about:config

Exactly! I used to have four rows of shortcuts big and visible. Now I have two. This is a backwards step. Please fix!

Hello! Everything is fine, but the latest version of FB 151.0 (for Windows) finally "drowned" the icons of the bottom (fourth) row on the start screen (at least on a widescreen screen, tablet) - this probably happened due to the location of the logo above the icons on a larger scale... is it possible to move the logo to the top left or right corner of the screen, or to reduce the image? With respect, Alexander.

Agreed. It's awful.

@AmberMeryman I'm nearly at the point of turning it off (which would be a shame, as I appreciate any article I click-on there gives some money back to Mozilla), for a handful of reasons:
Too annoying to dismiss a story: you have to click on the tiny "..." circle in the bottom-right and it's too-easy to miss and click on an article instead. Can't a larger "X" in a circle appear when hovering over (as I think older versions of the feed used to have)? Also: how about some keyboard-modifier shortcuts within that menu: 'B' to bookmark, 'N' to open, 'P' to open privately, 'D' to dismiss and 'R' to report? At-least then it would make dismissing a little-easier, as I'd only have to tap the "...", then press D.
Cannot reorder categories: if you tap the "..." on the right of a category-heading (e.g. Sports or Tech), the only option in the menu is "block". Could you perhaps add "Move up" and "Move down" into that menu?
Too-many paywalled articles: literally around 80-90% of articles from The Verge cannot be read without a subscription (a few other sites too, but not as-bad). Why waste my time promoting stuff I cannot read?
Article feed doesn't fill the width of the screen: I have to zoom-out to 90% to get three article-boxes side-by-side, or 67% to get four in-a-row. Why so much wasted padding on either-side of the feed widget? I guess all of the Firefox team never test on anything below a 1080p display set to 100% DPI?

Also, to add:
Difficult to dismiss articles on the bottom-row: if I scroll-down to the bottom of the news feed, and then tap the "..." icon on any article on the bottom-row, "Bookmark", "Open in a New Window" and "Open in a New Private Window" are visible, but "Dismiss" and "Report" are not (they render under the Taskbar). I have to scroll my mouse-wheel down each-time to make them appear. Would it not be possible to code it so the menu appears above the "..." in such cases, not below, to ensure all menu items are remain visible?

Not a huge fan of how much wasted space there is on the start screen. I'm using the 4x8 links tile layout on a mix of UWQHD and WQHD displays, with only the search bar and firefox logo making up the rest of the start page. Of that available screen real estate, it only uses ~ 1080*900 pixels. Both above the Firefox logo and on the sides is vast unused space. I'd much rather either fit more tiles by making that part wider, make the tiles largers, or maybe add some optional widgets on the sides, rather than have that just sit empty.

Here on 1366x768 (equivalent to a 1920x1080 display running at about 140% DPI scaling; a 1440p (2560×1440) one at roughly 180% DPI; or a 4K one (3840×2160) at about 280% DPI), without zooming-out I can literally see one large article box, or two smaller ones side-by-side.
I have to zoom-out to see more, which then makes tapping the tiny "..." on an article to dismiss it very tedious. I'm not sure why there is so much wasted-space either-side of the news feed?
20-05-2026 04:17 AM
It'd be nice if we could have a way to move the logo back up if you don't have any of the news or widgets for a smaller screen, as the shortcuts are basically at the bottom of my screen, and I don't like having to move all the way from the top of the screen to the bottom if I'm opening a shortcut.

Below a test with userContent.css

In Firefox 151 the Firefox logo is over the top of my Aurora picture background. No option to remove it (config should not be necessary). I look forward to being able to have the clean background that I previously had in F150.

I agree. I have an Aurora background also.I want to remove the logo too. I already tried "browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.logowordmark.alwaysVisible" set to false. didn't help.
20-05-2026 05:19 AM
Actually, it's worse.
1. Misalignment vertically
2. Huge space on top.
3. Too small shortcuts
4. On zooming a page, not a single pixel/margine and all the shortcuts in ending row, are practically on the docke space (Macbook)
AI slop is eating everything, even some basic stuff like a simple html pages...
20-05-2026 05:28 AM
Too much empty space at the top of the screen. What's this huge "container" for?
I use a zoom level of 140 percent so that the labels are larger and now they are all somewhere at the bottom of the screen.
20-05-2026 05:36 AM
I agree with other users. There are too many empty blocks. The empty space at the top prevents four rows of links from being displayed on a single screen.

When I opened Firefox today I was quite disapointed to see new look. The space above firefox logo and top bar is too big and the shortcut icons are too close together. I don't mind new changes but i liked the look before and it would be great if we were able to revert to previous layout or imho have much more customization settings in terms of placment of elements on the main page. I use Firefox for as long as I can remember and I wolud be very grateful if my input on this matter would be taken into consideration.

Updated to 151.0 and now I got this terrible New Tab page.
I have 16:9 1080p resolution in my desktop and I use zoom 170% in the new tab area where I see:
- 35% empty top space
- then a big firefox logo
- then 2 rows of icon shortcuts that now are smaller with their names cut off on two rows
- finally empty spaces in the left and right
What is happening ? every design UI change you do is in the negative from my perspective. Seriously how is this even possible, I keep coming here after major disappointments with this updates and I complain but clearly no one gives a...
Alright, mark my words this is how you will loose market share with small little upgrades that always go in the wrong way. Keep it up sooner then later people will migrate towards other options. This user here is very unhappy and just resigned.
20-05-2026 08:22 AM
I have a random letter "a" in the search engine selection box of the address bar. Why is it there and how can I remove it?
20-05-2026 10:43 AM
I resolved this by removing my userChrome.css font adjustment.
20-05-2026 09:40 AM
Please at least give us an option for larger icons on the New Tab page.
Additionally it would be really nice to actually have all 4 rows of shortcuts.
(Congratulations on getting me to sign up for an account just to complain about how you've made my life more annoying.)
