Since this version, Firefox crash randomly, but without an report error or something.. simply unexpected close like how you manually close the browser.. and when i open again, take over the websites i have been last time on. And this happened everytime once with v130.0.1.
Does anyone have met with this problem too?

New thing happened to me. I stopped having random crashes since the 131.0 update however I've found what is causing 100% crash for a single tab for me right now. It's when I go to google translate click the speaker to hear the pronunciation of a word I'm translating.

Unfortunately for me 131.0 still crashes randomly (Aorus 17H - Intel Core i7-13700H; RTX 4080; 32GB DDR5 4800 MT/s)
10-06-2024 05:09 PM
I've been upgraded to v 131.0 but I'm still getting random crashes multiple times a day. Mostly when changing screens on YouTube and Facebook (also still getting regular errors when reloading FB pages).

Unfortunately, a lot of us are experiencing the same exact problem. 😔 I have not seen any solutions yet, nor have I seen Mozilla comment on it. They may have, but not that I've seen.
10-06-2024 07:08 PM
On my side i've not had any crash since the 131.0. So i guess it's good or i've been lucky despite it's still here XD

+2 since 131 I haven't had any crashes so far in any of my rigs, thank god it stopped (at least for me)

Unfortunately I still experience random BSODs and sometimes crashesh. Atleast not on YT anymore. Sometimes on google. Few minutes ago I even got BSOD browsing this very page...
10-10-2024 04:19 PM
If you have more than Firefox that crashes and a BSOD you have probably a different and higher issue.
10-11-2024 02:57 PM
I would agree if the bsod would happen while other ocassions than using firefox. But it doesn't. I can play pc games that heavy stress on both cpu and gpu and bsod doesn't happen. I also does not have cursed 13th and 14th gen intel cpus. BSOD happen only during using firefox.

In my case, it got significantly worse with 131. I think there were some crashes and instability with 130, but it's become a multiple times a day thing with 131.
10-10-2024 04:10 AM
Another update, to 131.02. Firefox still randomly quitting. Back to 129.02 again 😞
10-10-2024 04:50 AM
I confirm.

How are you downgrading without creating a new profile that it says is necessary?
10-10-2024 10:48 AM
Downgrading firefox is a pain, but it can be done. Uninstall, reboot, install older version, make new profile by pointing at old folder. I found some info on how to do it but it did involve a bit of trial and error. Be much easier if it was fixed!

Thanks.

Has anyone seen if the beta branch still has this issue? The sheer number of crashes I'm getting is insane. And since downgrading is a pain, maybe just moving to Beta could help.
10-12-2024 06:18 AM
Yes, I tried them and saw no difference. What I *do* think may be making a difference for ME is to NOT have a Facebook tab open. When I close that tab, I seem to crash less often.
10-12-2024 06:48 AM
I suspect that there might be some memory leak but a fun fact is that my business laptop(W10) didn't had a single crash.
10-16-2024 10:21 AM
I downgraded to 129.0.2 and no crashes.
Has anyone tried 131.0.3 yet?
10-17-2024 02:23 AM
I've been using 131.03 for a day or so and it hasn't crashed once up to now. The release notes to 131.03 state that a few bugs have been fixed, so maybe it's ok now.
10-17-2024 05:08 AM
Thanks! Please keep us updated! It's such a pain to downgrade, so I want to make sure the current release is stable before upgrading to it.

Hello, I am running Firefox131.03 and finally no crashes. But to get here I did the following:
1. Disconnected every cable that connects to the modem or wireless router. Turned off power for 1 minute for both units. Rebooted computer.
2. Windows 11, cleared cache. Rebooted computer.
3. Opened computer and went to various websites. Not one crash.
4. However, if you go to a youtube video, it runs 1 or 2 seconds and you wait a while before it runs a few more seconds.
5. I have two websites that won't load. So not all problems resolved.
So far I have invested 6 hours testing and reinstalling firefox.
I am really disappointed in Firefox performance or something on computer.
10-19-2024 05:25 PM
An update on my message posted on the 17th. Although Firefox has not crashed it still has problems with two websites and won't display and there are some issues with YouTube videos and Facebook.
So I checked all my Windows 11 settings and then the cache and deleted the one website that it won't display and the website and I deleted just that one item. Rebooted the desktop. I ran Nortons 360 for a full check of the "C" drive. Rebooted the desktop computer again.
I AM SHOCKED. No Firefox crashes and all sites are running correctly. Note, I have not gone to a YouTube video...scared that may screw up something. I AM JUST SO DELIGHTED THAT things are back to normal.
10-19-2024 05:57 PM
Did you change any Windows settings? I assume the cache you cleared was the FF cache?
10-19-2024 06:31 PM
Thanks for asking, no I did not change any of the Windows settings. Your correct, I went into Firefox cache to settings and then Manage Cookies and Site Data. Selected the one website that would not display and deleted that one item. Did not delete all items in the list...I had done that before and it's painful because you have to log into all sites. Anyway after deleting that one website that would not display, closed out of that box and then out settings. Closed Firefox and rebooted the computer and then opened Firefox. All of a sudden everything was working, no problem with webpages. Hope that helps, good luck.

Yeah, I've been running it since it came out too, and no crashes since. I think they got whatever bug it was. or at least made it better.
10-18-2024 02:14 AM
I'm no longer getting 3 or 4 browser crashes a day on 131.03, but I'm still getting an error message regularly when reloading Facebook or loading a new FB page:
"Your request couldn't be processed
There was a problem with this request. We're working on getting it fixed as soon as we can.
Reload Page"
I see some people have reported issues using Avast but I use Norton.

Update 131.02 had 0 crashes for me. Yesterday on 131.03 I had few consecutive tab crashes that ended with BSOD. All while browsing single site.
11-03-2024 08:12 PM
Now on v. 132.0 and no longer seeing random crashes but Facebook is impossibly slow; I'm being forced to consider switching my browser back to Chrome.
11-04-2024 05:08 AM
I'm still getting crashes on 132.0. Ugh.
11-04-2024 06:06 PM
Mine is not crashing, only freezing. If you move the cursor or hit a key it stops freezing. What a pain in the neck.
