Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) will all be used interchangeably.
ML features are being steadily added to Firefox. As a user, I'm noticing growing sentiment against these features in general and specifically against their inclusion in Firefox. In the interest of conveying this sentiment, I am posting this discussion and inviting other users to share their opinions and experiences.
Common sentiments I have encountered are as follows:
With all this being said, the Mozilla forums are not a representative sample of the Mozilla user-base. My hope is that the opinions of these unrepresented users can be taken into account and constructive discussion can occur. Even if you disagree with the basis of these sentiments, this is user feedback and a request for the direction of the Mozilla project.

Absolutely agree, have decided to stop using Firefox the second a pop-up suggested I add some AI feature. Would come back instantly if the stance towards gen-AI changed.

Agree!!! I like firefox because it privacy is important to me personally and professionally, but with LLM involved theres no way to know whats being scraped and what its being used for.

This is just awful. I've loved Firefox, and it's been my browser of choice for well over a decade now for many reasons. Not least of which was it seemed the type to not fall in with the other tech giants' bull**bleep**. I, like many here, are vehemently against AI and to have it shoved at me with no opt-in.... it's frankly disgusting and feels like a betrayal. My trust has been fully shaken in Mozilla. I expected better.
In the meantime I'm gonna get it as deactivated as possible, but I will be looking at alternatives. This is just awful.

How come these days software that stood for a free and not corporate internet is all but disappearing, even if betraying all their principles means getting less revenue and not more.

I fully agree. I have used Firefox since it was introduced but over the last couple of years it has become bloated with ever more unnecessary and unwanted options. So today I switched to Waterfox, a fork of Firefox which simply throws all that junk away. AI is a great technology when used in the right way for the right reasons. However all it does in Browsers is limit user choice and increase Avertising revenue for developers, Goodbye Firefox
