I'm confused and sad that ActivityPub seems to be abandoned completely by Mozilla.
I knew that they were shutting down mozilla.social, but I didn't think that meant abandoning everything ActivityPub. But the account on mastodon.social doesn't post (last one is from 2023) and doesn't seem like it's going to start again. However Blue sky now appears in the footer for Mozilla websites.
I'm curious about a few things:
- Why was ActivityPub abandoned?
- Why is an account listed if it's abandoned?
- Is there a chance it will be reinvigorated?
- Why was Bluesky chosen over ActivityPub platforms?
- Anything else relevant to share?
