Developers or anyone...
I installed other 3 extensions in Thunderbird after first was Compact Header. before go on here is image:
After installed three of them, it worked fine, until I click either one of them: AutoZoom or Shrunked Image Resizer, then moment later while typing... but Thunderbird closed quick. I tried to open it again, then Troubleshoot Box open... I had to disable all of extension, then restart, but same popped up box, I had to click it to safe mode, it open Safe Mode Thunderbird. I looked at these extension... I tried enable one of them but same crashing... I had to remove all except Compact Header, it came back to normal. Not sure which one of 3. I think I tried one of two or both, it got crashed.
Share it to anyone whom you know will look and fix bugs in either Thunderbird or Extensions.
Thanks! Have pleasant day... Andrew

Remove all except Compact Headers. Then reinstall one of the others and test. If OK, uninstall that one and try the other two the same way - one at a time. If there are no problems with only one of them but problems with more than one, then there is some sort of interference between them. If that happens, I would suspect AutoZoom and Shrunked Image Resizer.

Hi Andrew, thanks for sharing your experience! It’s great that you provided detailed steps—it really helps in troubleshooting.
From your description, it seems the crashes started after installing AutoZoom and Shrunked Image Resizer, while Compact Header remained stable.
Thunderbird is generally stable, but conflicts between extensions can sometimes occur, especially if multiple add-ons try to modify the same interface or features.
Your approach of using Safe Mode was smart. Safe Mode disables extensions and allows Thunderbird to start cleanly, which helps isolate the issue.
Since only Compact Header works without crashes, it’s likely that one or both of the other extensions has a bug or compatibility issue with your Thunderbird version.
To identify the culprit, enable the extensions one at a time like purete, restart Thunderbird, and test typing. This step-by-step method helps pinpoint which extension is causing the crash.
Ensure that each extension is updated to the latest version. Sometimes developers release patches specifically to fix stability issues.
You can also report the crash to the Thunderbird bug tracker, mentioning the steps you took and including screenshots. Sharing logs increases the chance developers will resolve the issue quickly.
If you want to experiment safely, try creating a new Thunderbird profile and install the extensions there. This prevents your main profile from being affected while testing.
Remember, the goal is to restore smooth functionality and “purity” of your setup—similar to maintaining the pureté of a system without conflicts.
Community forums and extension support pages are often helpful. Many users have faced similar crashes and share fixes or workarounds.
Overall, you’re doing everything right. By isolating extensions and providing clear feedback, you’re helping Thunderbird developers improve stability for everyone. Keep sharing your findings positively!
