In the Thunderbird message filter configuration, add a choice in the action menu to rise a popup alert showing the title of the message, with an optional sound. This would help real time treatment of critical messages.
In the Thunderbird folder pane, create an actions in the contextual menu to fold all subfolders at all sublevels under the selected folder. May be placed aside the "new subfolder" command, or in a new submenu.
