I would like Thunderbird to warn if any attachments are open in a new message before sending an e-mail. This would avoid accidentally sending opened attachments that were modified, but not saved.
When I send an e-mail with attachments at work, I often make corrections or changes to an attached document or spreadsheet before sending the e-mail. However I regularly get caught out when I finish off the e-mail and click send, only to realise an attachment I made changes to is still open. When I try to close it, I get the dreaded "Save changes before closing?", indicating I sent the e-mail with the unmodified attachment, which means I have to send a follow-up e-mail with the revised attachment.
