Would be nice to be able to use image upscaling on video players, as an optional feature you could toggle for any individual video player.

@piterktry it in Edge (it's already on Win10 anyway, so easy to compare to). I feel like the workload is similar, but the image is not. Update would be nice.

@Gebieterwell you might be right!

Edge seems to give better contrast and more details on 4th setting.

@piterk It just shows for me that the implementation is still a work in progress if you compare it. The technology has bigger potential.

Still doesn't work as of Firefox 122.

Hi! The just arrived AMD Video Upscaling feature would be nice to use on my main browser which is Firefox. This feature is included in the new Adrenaline driver 24.1.1.

note that AMD just released upscaling but only for Chrome, Edge and Windows Media Player

would love to see this in Firefox

Has anyone been able to get this to work?

Still doesn't work for me as of Firefox 122.0. on an RTX 3070 with the latest Nvidia driver.

The simplest and easiest option is to port AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) Version 1. Other upscalers are too CPU / GPU intensive.

Lossless Scaling app

There's much more to do on that subject :
- Super Resolution
- Fluid Motion
- Auto HDR (when Firefox will support HDR)
- Sharpening
- Deblocking/Debanding would also be very useful on a web browser

We could have a very nice toolbox with all that.

Add support for new AMD technologies would be a point to have an updated browser.

Although I have seen the AMD patch updates, and they have compatibility with chrome and edge, for me these browsers are deprecated, or they were.
