I use one FF window for social media, another FF window for ebay/amazon/retailers, another window for news, another for weather/sea-state forecasts, another FF window for webmail clients, etc. It would be *really* useful if the pop-up in my menu bar (when I hover over a window icon) could have a user-editable name for the window. "Social", "Shopping", "eMail", etc.

I.e.: could we manually enter the window-name in the title-bar for each FF window?

OS: Kunbuntu 22.04, pretty much bog-standard using the default task manager.

Yes please! That add-on looks good and I'm definitely going to give it a shot, but it would be even better to have this as a built-in feature!

Add the function of naming windows / 建议增加为窗口命名功能

It is recommended to add the function of naming windows like the Google Browser.

建议增加像谷哥浏览器一样的 为窗口命名功能。

In addition to being able to name windows, I would love to be able to color code them using the new, snazzy palettes that have been introduced. I really try to keep my multiple on-going projects in their own window so the size of the tabs does not shrink to the point I cannot read them.

Add a "Label" feature to differenciate windows

Whether for good or bad, I'm a habitual multi-window/millions-of-tabs kind of a user and it gets difficult to manage and navigate through all of my minimized windows to find what I'm looking for at any given time. Generally speaking, I group tabs together according to projects or topics but I can't always figure out which window is which.

If you could add a feature where you could right-click on a window icon and give it a "nickname", then I could label a window as "Music" or "Video references" or whatever it may be and it would save me so much time opening and closing windows.

Please add this. Chrome and Edge have "Name Window..." option in this context menu (see pic). Firefox should as well. There is "title renamer" addon but it is too complex solution and should really be integrated feature of the product.

Making moves

There are already some (imperfect) alternatives which may help:

FF's feature of typing "%[SPACE][search term]" in the address bar will find tabs containing the search term. E.g. "% mini" finds my tabs related to classic mini's. Mostly. A bit klunky but certainly quicker than manually popping-up 20-odd windows across three screens.

Kubuntu's (plasma's) feature of "Set Window Shortcut" allows any window (not just a FF one) to be popped-up using a user-selected key-combo. E.g. CTRL-SHIFT-M. But user-selected associations are lost at reboot (or even at a FF restart).

The FF "%[SPACE]..." feature could - perhaps - be extended so that any tab could be given a user-selected identity (e.g. "M") so that typing (say) "%%M" would find and raise that tab's window. A logical extension of such a feature would be that - at the moment when any tab is *given* its identity ("M" etc) - the tab is automatically moved to the window which contains all the other tabs with the same identity. (Or a new window if no other same-identity tabs yet exist.)

Name windows and send tabs between them

This is one is for productivity and managing work in Firefox. I think there was a discussion about getting work done in Firefox, but I can't seem to find it.

When Firefox has more than one window open, it would be useful to be able to name them and then be able to send tabs between the named windows. I know there is an add-on for naming windows, but this would be a contextual option when right-clicking a tab.

I have to use Chrome for work and I have two displays, one I use for communication and research, the other for the work I am doing. Quite often I move tabs between windows to organise data on my screen. In Firefox, this is difficult has the options are limited to Move to the endMove to start or Move to new window. With Chrome, you are able to move to named windows, see attached screenshot.

So the ask is

1. Add the ability to name a window by right-clicking the top of the window and adding a name.
2. Add an option when right-clicking a tab to send it to a named window.
