I often use one (or several) Private Window(s) in Firefox since I hate ads. Some of my private windows have >100 tabs. However, when the system crashes, or there is a power outage, I lose all open URLs.  So here is what I propose: When I open a new private window, I want Firefox to ask me whether it should save the open links. This should be to a file ONLY accessible to me, not any web site; and to itself, if I permit so. It should allow me to name this file (such as “Travel”), and offer me to encrypt it with a password. It should update this file as I open and close tabs. When I open another private window, say, after a system restart, it should allow me to open this file and have Firefox re-open all the pages.

Hi @Mn1AHelix the reason why you perceive your web experience to display less ads is because private windows have an increased level of tracking protection, which leads to blocking some ads that rely on trackers.

This can be achieved by adjusting your preferences as follows:

- Enter about:preferences#privacy on your search bar

- Under "Enhanced Tracking Protection" select "Strict"

This will bring the level of tracking protection to parity with what you get on private windows, which by design aim to prevent storage of browsing data!

Hi @rtestard thanks for the note. While I mentioned ads as one reason to use a private window, there are numerous other legitimate reasons for doing so, e.g. not wanting links to show up in the browsing history -- unless I explicitly request Firefox to access such links. I can of course do this manually, by copy-pasting the links into a local file, or even writing them down on a piece of paper - but since I have a computer, it would be convenient if it could do this for me. 😉
