Many users find this popup incredibly annoying, especially when attempting to browse and download multiple images in quick succession as it takes up a quarter of the screen. Scrolling down makes it go away but dare to scroll up (say, to search something else) it's back again. Closing every individual pop-up is just tedious. All methods to permanently disable it are desktop only, they all use about:config, which android Firefox does not have.

disable download notification popup firefox mobile

On firefox mobile i dont see an option to disable the notification on the bottom when i download an image.

About:config is not working as well.

Any ideas on how to disable it?

I wish to remove this frustrating pop-up as well. It is really annoying 😑

I hate the popup as well. Wish there was a way to remove it.

Very much interested in this. I just downloaded the beta version solely so I could search for a setting in about:config to get rid of that banner.

Yes, this feature needs to be disabled. Banner has been persisting for an extended time and blocking content now.

Example Image after scrolling and will not clear.

I've been hoping for an option to disable this for a while now. Its annoying and redundant, since I get a notification at the top on the pull down menu.  what's the point of having two notifications separate for downloading an image?  It serves no purpose.  Also, since the last update, it seems to stay there until I manually swipe it away, so its even more annoying than it was before.

Please remove this, or at least add the ability to disable it completely.

This is absolutely breaking Firefox on Android for me. Not only does the toast stay up for 15-20 seconds after a recent update, but even if I swipe it away it seems to block click interactions on that part of the screen until the timeout is complete.

As others point out it is completely redundant and pointless info.

I will stop using Firefox if this isn't addressed soon, absolutely unforgivable UX!

Please offer a toggle to disable this toast. It can break websites with buttons on the bottom of the page.

If there is a "download completed" toast that sticks around for 10-20 seconds covering a "next page" or similar button there is no way to interact with that button other than to wait.

A browser notification should not be allowed to block page content in this way, this is unnacceptable UX.

This needs to be addressed urgently. As others have said, it can obscure parts of a site necessary for downloading and the notification even covers the Find in page search box when both are on screen!

I fail to see what was considered wrong before this change. If it ain't broke...

For now, we can swipe it away (touch and drag) but I will say the threshold feels a bit extreme to me to dismiss it. (on Android)

@Jon is there a way to connect/merge link discussions posts with idea posts? It would be nice to have all this rolled into the same thread. Or to lock down the discussion and move it here perhaps?

I ended up here looking for a solution to turn off the annoying notification. Hopefully there's a solution soon.
