Thunderbird - when copy of sent message is added to source folder, mark message as 'Read'

Using Thunderbird 145.0, I have enabled the option to put a copy of Sent messages into the same folder as the original/source message being replied to.  But that copy is marked as 'Unread' and shows in bold.  I would like to see it automatically marked as 'Read' instead.  (I am usually replying to things in the Inbox, and so then the badge-count and formatting of the folder in the side bar show as having something that is Unread, which isn't strictly true - I wrote it, so I probably read it.  🙂 )
