Thunderbird Sync for sharing settings between devices (like Firefox Sync)

Sync Win/iOS

On the day when Thunderbird will be in sync on iOS and Windows, I will donate. Not just once. Otherwise it makes no sense to me!

I was just looking at the new roadmap feature, and I don't see any thing there about this, unless it is encompassed in one of the other entries. This is something folks have been waiting for years for, and it seems like it keeps getting put off. Last I heard, it was going to show up this spring, but I don't think it's going to.

I did the same and I feel a bit disappointed because it seems that the development of the long-promised (and long-awaited) Sync feature has stalled or stopped. Is it so? For me Thunderbird Sync would be a great enhancement because I am tagging my emails and I would like to see the tags in all my Thunderbird installations on different devices.  It would help me a lot.

I am very happy with the option to tag e-mails - it is a great Thunderbird-feature which is crucial for my daily workflow. Unfortunately the tags don't appear on my other computers because they are not stored correctly on the IMAP-server. Thunderbird Sync could solve this problem - that is my hope. And I think many other Thunderbird users who use multiple devices—both desktop and mobile—feel the same way and would therefore be VERY excited about the introduction of Sync.

The 2026 roadmap indeed does not show sync, along the lines of the previous quote in October at https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/thunderbird-sync-for-sharing-settings-between-devices-like/idc-..., other work is taking priority.  But if that work progresses well, then work on sync could resume in 2026.

That's what I was afraid of. Then when 2026 comes around, it will be 2027. I do get that things can get in the way, however. I'm sure Exchange support and Thunderbird Pro are the big ones. Anyway, thanks for the hard work.

I was so happy to hear about firefox sync profle for thunderbird ... long ago ... years passing by now ... year after year 😞 more promissis more waiting.

yes ... no ... on work ... setting up ... stopped ... yes ... 2022 ... 2023 ... 2025 ... continuing now 2026 ... tomorrow we start again 2027 or 2028.

Sorry I am very sad for waiting ... it will be a very useful feature ... ok ... I understand, things change and priorities ... using and donating mozilla firefox and thunderbird now for many years.
