A recent update changed the Recent Destinations List under "Move To" and "Copy To" from an alphabetical list to a Most-Recently-Used (MRU) list, which really hampers the usability. What I have now is a random list of 25 folders that I have to search through to see if the one I want is somewhere in the list. Before the update I could easily go down the alphabetically ordered list and quickly find the folder I want. Now it's a hot mess. Please revert back to the alphabetical ordering or make it a user option. Thanks!

I use the "Move To / Copy to > Recent Destinations" on a daily basis to save emails. This change has made my chore miserable.  Even the MRU function does not work well.  PLEASE change back to alphabetical order or allow users to have a choice.

Alphabetical as the default please!

(I have been a Thunderbird user since the early 2000s. Computers have come and gone, e-mail providers have changed, but Thunderbird has stayed with me. I have tried several other e-mail clients, but Thunderbird is the best of them. The change from alphabetical to some semblance of recently-used has been disruptive to my e-mail workflow. I receive between 100 and 200 e-mails a day.)

Fix is still not implemented. The current sorting method is such garbage and wastes so much time! Go back to alphabetical please!!!!

Good news. This will be available in several weeks in release 150 as a user choice.  I'm using it right now in development version 150.

The MRU list works fine for me, but if Thunderbird reverts to an alphabetic list, I would like the ability to pin folders to the top of the list.

I'd also vote for alphabetic.
I have a recent list of 55 folders, which fits neatly on the screen.
I'd also like the ability to update the definition of "recent" from a hard coded 31 days (month) to a user-specified amount. I have to edit the code to change this to 5 "months", due to some of my "recent" stuff being on a 2 or 3 moth cycle. Additionally, I sometimes update a large batch of folders on a one-off basis and this overwhelms even the 55 folder limit.....

This becomes available next week in version 150 as a user choice - you choose MRU or alpha.  So I'm marking this as delivered

You can set a count, up to 50 for both alpha and mru.  There is not the possibility to specify "days"

There is not the possibility to specify "days"

Hence my submitting an idea to have this option added.....

I submitted an idea to add the ability to change the setting for "recent" from a hard coded 31 days to a user-specified value.

Bug 453 will be delivered soon

I fully agree that the current non alphabetical format makes it nearly impossible to use the MRU listing anymore. Please correct this error within Thunderbird 🙂
