The problem is that the password field has two buttons: “Log in” and “Cancel”. In my opinion, pressing the “Cancel” button should cause the program to close. Instead, it currently behaves as if the program proceeds to the next stage of startup. It can even reach the point where messages are being read. This must be changed.

What is the password you are usingdesigned to do?

You are trying to make the encryption password for saved passwords into some sort of application control password.  I think you probably need to reconsider your request in terms of your choice of tools. Misusing an existing feature and asking for it to do something  different is hardly the correct way to proceed.

Generally speaking operating systems mange access control.  Why are you not using the features your operating system offers?  Like user accounts, screen locking and disk encryption etc.
