Thunderbird Chat on XMPP : Broadcast message to users feature like Spark IM

When trying to use Mozilla Thunderbird as a replacement for Spark IM because we want to remove the usage of Java in the environment, we are unable to figure how can a user send a broadcast, which is basically sending one message to many users at the same time (even if that mean to be multiple 1:1).

It should be super simple, send broadcast -> list with checkbox of users to send the message => the box for the message, then send.

That is pretty much the last thing that prevent us from moving everything to TB, please help !

Hi,

I am wondering if there has been any progress about this idea. We are using Gajim as client for XMPP but i would like that to move to TB. IM chats work ok but I would like to get notification about new message in chat rooms whic we use for general comunication.
