I recently upgraded my Thunderbird client to v102.
The calendar export options have changed and when reviewing the Release Notes I note in the "Changed"
- Support for importing and exporting calendars from Outlook CSV format was removed
This has significantly impacted my usage. This is where my timesheets are created / stored.
This format is excellent for further analysis and billing tools.
To use html or ics is very limiting and problematic for such purposes.
From what I have found online, all ics to csv convertible tools are a extremely poor substitute
Can this be reversed or can someone suggest an add-on to remedy this situation ?
I have to agree with somebody_else 🙂
Exporting calendars to CSV was the only way to analyze calendar data, like for example counting working time.
Didn't found a good ICS to CSV parser.
Please help ?
auch der export in privat.ics funktioniert bei 102.2. nicht mehr !!!!!! bitte dringend prüfen und korrigieren !!!
I would concur with Mayher46.
The ics export from Thunderbird does not export the notes in the event, when using such online conversion tools ie Indigo Blue: Free ICS to CSV converter
Furthermore other online conversion tools Project Wizard: ICS to CSV Converter state: Uups, you tried to convert a file which was not an ics, or hadn't selected a file at all.
There could be data corruption with using the add-on Provider for Google Calendar. But this add-on is essential as Thunderbird's vanilla version does not wrap text notes.
I have not uninstall the plugin as I was hoping for an better solution.
Yes, I can export the ical directly from Google but that does not resolve the problems with exporting from Thunderbird
Please help or reinstate csv export
I agree as well. I rely on the csv export to sync my work-calendars to my accounting and summary software. Converting from a ICS file to spreadsheet is a PITA and I have yet to find a decent converter. Why would Mozilla take away such basic (and essential) functionality? I might as well be using G-mail now.....
Bring back calendar csv export!
Why did you disappear the csv export in Thunderbird calendar? This was essential to my time-sheet and project workflows!
Thanks asbopardikar for the link! I'll give it a try!
While this convertor does export the notes, it does not separate the date and time.
Format being "yyyy-mm-bbThh:mm:ss"
Is there a way to modify the export?
or allow the date/time within the csv import to be reinterpreted by excel
Yes... after converting or getting Excel file, simply change the Column Format of date column as you required. Means select data column, right click, then click on Format Cells, then go to end Customised , then type dd-mm-yyyy hh:mm:ss, ( or as you required ) , then this will change all values to your requirement.
