Tasks for Today in Today Pane

Ok, So I might be missing something that already exists, but when I view tasks in the Today Pane, it is showing all of my tasks, not my tasks that start today or are due today. The same should go for if I click forward to future dates. It should show the tasks for that date. Futhermore, when I view my Today Pane from the Tasks view, not the calendar view, I can't even see the tasks at all, only events. I should easily be able to view the tasks and events for the day from the Today Pane, not all of the tasks. Also, I should be able to view the tasks for the day from the Tasks tab. Is this already possible or am I missing something. I have already gone into the settings > Calendar and changed the Today pane The agenda shows: 1 day, but this didn't do anything to the Today pane's view of tasks. Also, the Filter Tasks tab of the Tasks tab, when you click the "today" filter, it should only show tasks that are due today or start today. It appears to do almost nothing when you click the today filter or the next 7 day filter. These filters do not appear to do what they should do.  (Edit: so it appears if you do not put a start date on a task, then it shows up in the today view. This is why I am seeing so many items when I try to see them in today view or when trying to filter by date. This is not sensical behavior. Many tasks will not have a start date or a due date. This should default to only showing tasks where a date structure has been defined, not all tasks that have undefined dates)
