Firefox Fennec had a great tabbed interface on tablets. When Fenix came, we regressed to a stretched out phone UI. After years of stagnation, Android tablets are rising again, thanks to foldables and new initiatives from Google. Firefox is missing out by not including a tabbed interface for Android tablet users, particularly because FF has best in class syncing abilities. Android power users are enthusiastic recommenders of their favorite browsers, so it would be huge advantage over Chromium based competitors!

It is complete nonsense that Firefox android does not have tablet mode. It feels like some kind of prank

Android Firefox tabs

I'm looking to swap back to firefox after a long time. I have a folding phone and i think there needs to be a tab bar like Chrome has. It's a huge QoL feature that's missing, for me as a fold user this is almost a game changer to whether I use Firefox or not. Perhaps also a toggle option if to use a current open tab rather than make a new one everytime when on the homepage as tabs can get out of control very quickly on mobile and it would help avoid the need for you to implement the option of changing the homepage

I agree 100%. I have taken to using Vivaldi as my daily driver because the Firefox UI on my 14.6" Galaxy Tab s8 ultra simply sucks. But what makes it even more galling is that on my wife's iPad Air, it actually does have a tablet interface! What the hell Mozilla?

@dskouras68Firefox on the IPad/IPhone uses Webkit as a base instead of Gecko, so that's probably why there's a proper Tablet design.

Definitely, tab bar is a must for tablets. Navigating tabs from a secondary tap-to-open screen is not convenient on big screens. All other major browsers support a tab bar - Chrome, Opera, Vivaldi, Edge, Brave, Samsung Internet, etc.

Making moves

I'd love to see this added now that Google is making tablets a priority again as well as their new Pixel Fold and Pixel tablet.

I use my phone with a Lapdock and not having the tablet interface means I'm seeing buttons 9" wide! That's such a waste of space! I've literally installed Vivaldi on my phone JUST for my lapdock, despite it being Chromium because I don't have anothee choice. I love FF and have been using it exxlusively for 3-4 years now, but I can't use it on tablets and stuff anymore

Apparently Mozilla don't listen to their community, it's been over a year and they still haven't implemented tabs, I still remember quite a while ago, where people were asking for multiprocessing and they didn't listen until Chrome ate all their market share.

Longtime user of FF desktop. I sadly gave up on mobile a while back. Trying it again today, but I guess they really aren't listening. How hard can it be to make a feature optional that used to be there in the first place?

I'll try again in a year or so.
