Yes to this. Safari has it and it works fantastically. But I don’t use Safari. When most other nav can be done with swiping it’s jarring to have to use multiple taps to tab switch.
Yes, my fingers agree with you, but that would conflict with swipe-to-close gesture though. Maybe move those section buttons to the bottom, closer to fingers? Or maybe make X buttons for tabs..
Oh I might have misunderstood this one, @Veddu do you mean functionality to switch between all tabs and all private tabs, rather than swiping to move to the next individual tab?
@Bjones I mean the functionality to switch between all tabs and all private tabs. Since it looks like we are getting the ability to move the searchbar to bottom on the next update, maybe we will get the ability to swipe between open tabs like android aswell. @steel835 Chrome on iOS has this feature and I think it works great.
Horizontal swipe gesture to switch betweeen Normal & Private(& Synced) Tabs View
Vertical swipe is used in the top section(with icons for tabs, private tabs & synced tabs, see the image) of the Tab view for maximizing or minimize it's view, horizontal swipes can be added in that section & the empty spaces below the tabs to switch between Normal/Private/Synced Tabs View.
@tisolo if this aligns with your request, we can merge the two threads together (and votes) so the conversation stays focused in one space. Just let me know 😃
I think many users have already requested this. And think it is liked by many since at times users want some sessions to be logged in and some ( like random searches) in private more.
The swipe makes it quite neat and a familiar interface as it is there on many other browsers, namely Safari and Vivaldi.
