MacOS features a fantastic system-wide text replacement feature which makes inputting common words and phrases (like an email address) very simple.

It'd be fantastic if Firefox could be updated to take advantage of Text Replacement to provide a more seamless MacOS experience

PLEASE add text replacement to Firefox.  It is a heavily used feature in Safari and can be a deal breaker for Firefox without it.   Add me to the growing list of users who want this feature enabled.

Any update on this (it's been 2 months since the announcement that they are working on it)?

Sure would be nice.

Why is Text Replacement STILL Missing in Firefox in 2024?

It's truly baffling and frustrating that in 2024, Firefox still hasn't integrated a basic feature like macOS Text Replacement. This is a crucial productivity tool that many of us rely on daily, yet Firefox continues to lag behind. Meanwhile, we've seen countless other, frankly less important, features being prioritized and implemented.

Why does it seem like Firefox isn't listening to its community? This feature has been requested for years, and yet there's been no progress. It's disappointing to see a browser that claims to champion user needs completely ignore something so fundamental. If other browsers can manage to support this, why can't Firefox? It feels like productivity isn't a priority for Firefox anymore, and that’s really disheartening for long-time users like myself.

Please, it's time to stop ignoring your users and start addressing these basic needs.

Hurry up and add this. I'm so sick of Firefox being so behind compared to other browsers, they're always quick to blame Apple etc yet other browsers find workarounds. Examples include:

1. MacOS text shortcuts (this thread) - a stupidly basic feature broken for years

2. iOS/iPad OS Firefox extensions - nowhere to be see - Orion worked around it.

3. Android: opening links in a new window for dual screen/foldable devices.

These are just 3 personal examples that affect me, all have been submitted to Mozilla for years.

I'm starting to lose patience and respect for Mozilla and starting to consider alternatives.
