Dear Thunderbird Team,
I have been using Thunderbird for many months and greatly appreciate the free, open-source email software. Recently, I learned that only about 3% of users donate, and I wanted to contribute a small amount, such as โฌ2. However, I noticed that the minimum donation is โฌ20 for a one-time contribution or โฌ9 monthly.
I believe that many users, like myself, use Thunderbird because itโs free and often have limited financial resources. A minimum donation of โฌ20 may be too high for some, discouraging them from donating at all. If you introduce the option to donate as little as โฌ1, more users would likely be willing to contribute. A lower entry barrier would probably increase overall donation rates and bring in more support.
I hope you consider this suggestion to further engage the community. Thank you for your excellent work on Thunderbird!
Best regards
