Currently, a container that is limited to domains that are explicitely listed for it. I'd like to see an option to include all subdomains of the listed domains.

For example, a container that is assigned to *.google.com' would automatically be used to open 'www.google.com', 'drive.google.com', 'docs.google.com', etc.

Add support for granular URL-based container assignments

Currently, Firefox Multi-Account Containers only allows assigning containers at the domain level (e.g., github.com), but it doesn't support more granular rules such as assigning specific paths or subdirectories to different containers.

For example:

  • I want github.com/work to always open in the Work container.
  • At the same time, I want all other GitHub URLs (e.g., github.com/personal) to open in the Personal container.

This level of flexibility would be highly useful for managing workflows across personal and professional contexts more effectively.

Proposed Feature:

  • Add the ability to create URL-based rules that include paths or use patterns (e.g., github.com/work*) to specify containers.
  • Support regex or wildcard rules to ensure flexibility in URL matching.

@punitsu if that aligns with your request, we can merge the two threads (and combine the kudos) to keep the conversation focused in one space. Just let me know 😃
