Hi,
I have a suggestion for TB's spam and mail filtering.
Creating custom rules is far more complicated than it needs to be, especially for users who are not technically experienced.
It should be possible to create simple rules in plain language, for example:
"If an email contains both the words 'casino' and 'bonus', delete it."
Or:
"If an email contains three specified phrases commonly used in phishing emails, move it directly to Junk or delete it."
Many scam emails contain combinations of words that make them very easy to identify. Allowing users to add two or more required keywords would greatly reduce false positives while still filtering large amounts of spam and phishing.
The current rule system requires users to understand conditions, AND/OR logic, rule order and several different menus. Even for technically experienced users, this is unnecessarily complicated.
A simple interface such as:
IF message contains:
[phrase 1]
AND [phrase 2]
AND [phrase 3]
THEN:
[Delete / Move to Junk / Block]
would make Outlook's filtering much more useful and accessible.
Please consider simplifying custom mail filtering in Outlook.
Regards,
Rolf
