Smooth scrolling or other form of feedback in the tabs list

When scrolling through the tab list (with horizontal tabs), it isn't clear what direction you are moving through until you reach one of the ends. This can result in frustration for the user if they have a lot of tabs open and are often switching between ones that are far apart.

Implementing a form of feedback such as smooth scrolling would fix this issue.
