i have switched from chrome since past 1 month and firefox is just better. the only thing i did not find easy is the option for having multiple profiles to be used at ease, could be better if there was one to easily access seperate profiles for work and home

I don't who that profiles thingy in Firefox Nightly is supposed to help, but this is not what people wanted when they said they want that easy account-switching functionality that Chrome has.
I don't want to create separte profiles under the same email-address, but instead I want to easly switch between different accounts (with separate email addresses).
That is because I have two separate email addresses for work and private and I don't want them mangeled up in any way.
I don't know how you came up with that botched idea of a account selector, but this it definitely not it.
Unfortunately still not on par with Chrome on a very important topic...

I agree with the previous post.

The profile feature in Nightly is nothing like chrome and I don't think it's what folks are asking for. It's certainly not what I want.  I want to jump between my existing work & personal profiles that are linked to different emails. Not create sub profiles within my existing profiles.

For now it seems I'll still have to go to about:profiles then hit "Launch profile in new browser" to jump between profiles. But that method is buggy, if another profile has been closed then the 'launch profile' button is gone and you need to hit the 'Restart normally' button to make the "Launch profile in new browser" reappear.

@Ppanter Hi, I'm not sure what you mean about "multiple profiles under the same email address". Unlike Chrome, you don't need an email address to create additional profiles. If you want, you can create multiple profiles, then in each profile, sign in to sync using separate accounts.

@Billy_Joule I'm not quite sure what you're seeing, but if you are using Nightly, then the "browser.profiles.enabled" pref should be set to true, and you can see your list of profiles in the Profiles menu (inside the app menu, under the accounts menu, and in the menubar / window menu). That's how you're supposed to jump between profiles. As I mentioned above, none of your profiles are tied to an email at all. If you want to, you can sign in to sync in different profiles to sync the data separately.

Hope this helps!

Making moves

I came back a few months after the feature was implemented... I've used it a lot and I can say, it's pretty much what I was hoping for. Easy profile switching, each profile has its own history, etc. So I have a personal profile, a professional profile, a study profile, etc. It works great so far.
Congrats to everyone involved.
PS, I've been using Firefox since 2009. It's the best for me! ‌🤗

I'm liking this feature too. There's still work to do, but so far so good. Only wish I could easily send tabs and tab groups to my other profiles.

Feature is there, why not just adding a simple switcher button? Literally just make it more accessible than using the about:profiles tab.
