When you search for something in your Android browsing history, the only option is to open one of the results directly.

There could be (delete) buttons next to every result and/or a context menu to bookmark or open all of them at once.

This should already be a feature in the mobile app. It has been part of the search funktion of the history of the desktop version for years now.

This would be really useful.

Alternatively, being able to search and modify the history from a synced device (i.e desktop) could accomplish the same result. Although, I imagine it would be easier to implement the OP's proposal.

Also, being able to delete search results is really important if you want to delete old history. Currently, you would have to scroll down until you find the entry that you want to delete.

Why isn't this a thing yet?

The absence of this feature is a security and privacy issue. Malicious websites squat in nonsense domains. When a user types one of these and visits it accidentally, it's entrred into history, which means it also enters the history search and suggestion when typing UrlRLs. The simple act of navigating to a trusted website then becomes potentially dangerous.

This has been a persistent issue for me for I don't know how long. When I type the first two characters of my email domain, the suggested URL is, 100% of the time, one of these nonsense scam domains. I won't delete my history, but the steps to find and remove the entries are so time consuming and inconvenient that I won't do those either. I realize that that's my decision, but it's the result of a dilemma created by this feature's absence.

I really do not know how this is still not a thing yet!
I mean the UI and functionality to view and edit the history is already in place. It is just baffling why the features "disappear" as soon as you search for specific entries in the history.

Are they not planning to implement this at all?

I love Firefox and have for over a decade. It boggles my mind that this basic feature hasn't been added.

I don't understand why this needs to be voted on, but placing a QR code reader icon in the URL bar that no one requested is added without community input.

Also the fact this is still not fixed 2 years later is alarming.
