Dear Mozilla team
Thanks for the excellent work you do for the global community.
I have been a Thunderbird user for several decades.
After a recent upgrade to the latest version, I have begun to regularly get alerts. These alerts relate to the certificate for the the mail server. I have a small mail server instance operated by a web products host service. They use Lets Encrypt certificates.
The alert reports that Thunderbird does not trust the source. My efforts to import the certificate were stymied because Thunderbird Settings decided that the certificate was acceptable and should not be imported. There seems no solution.
These issues are not present in the mobile app I use in my mobile devices.
In addition, the Win 11 Desktop version often delays collecting mail. Using the icon doesn't solve the problem. Later the mail comes in, delayed and sometimes without some messages. These show up later.
Buggy and annoying is how I would describe Desktop now.
Being a moral supporter of Thunderbird, and promoting it to my clients, I am reluctant to change to another application.
Please fix the security bits. We need them. And we need them not to get in the way.
thanks
David Hine
