Second status (Thunderbird)

I use many filters in Thunderird, e.g. for marking a mail with a certain color. (status new = red, status not new = green, a.s.o.) 

The problem is, when the mail status changes from new to not new (= read or answered, a.s.o.) the new status is in the second position and therefor not recognised of the program!  The color then is not changed yet!

The new, actual status should be in the first position at all! Or, when there would be a option to cancel a old status (or a specific one or all old ones) that would be great!    Thanks for answering!
