The latest version 128.0 (64-bit) no longer allows a return key click in the search bar to open the default search engine page. This was a very efficient tool that I used dozens of times per day. The removal of this tool has made the search bar function cumbersome.

Completely agree! This has annoyed me so much since the latest update that I won't update my other computer with Firefox because of it. Why on earth must Firefox break things that were working fine to begin with.

Yes!  Please bring it back.  Here is a link to the other thread about this topic:  https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/discussions/independent-search-box-toolbar-no-longer-lets-you-hit-ent...

We want it back!

There is a long thread on this subject with lots of annoyed users including myself. https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/discussions/independent-search-box-toolbar-no-longer-lets-you-hit-ent...

You can count every post as a vote.

Please change it back.

Having this function back does make using Firefox easier. Less key clicks are always helpful. Yes, one can put a space or any other character but that is just an add key click. I personally just like to click on the search icon to open that page. From there I can do what I need instead of entering something in the search bar and then clicking.

My vote is to return to pre-version 128 regarding the search bar functionality.

Thank you

I've used this feature probably 100+ times per day for who even knows how many years.

I've rolled back to 127 and I'm not updating until it's fixed.

Please bring this back, this was the main way I interacted with the browser and everything takes more clicks without it. Entering a space and pressing enter as some have suggested is not the same thing, if you do that for youtube for example it takes you to a "no results found" page instead of to the youtube front page like it used to.

Well, the shift-enter/shift-click is even worse than adding a space to the search box. Congratulations.

Interesting, shift-enter require more code than just click on an icon that opens a page. Hope these guys don't write code for space flight.
